Take a break from technology and solve a mystery the old fashioned way… with a keen mind, a little legwork and a bit of ingenuity. Gather your wits and your friends to solve a mystery like no other. Take a walking* tour of one of our downtown locations and solve puzzles, gather clues and crack the case. Will your team be the first to finish?
Downtown Detectives is a team-based, outdoor mystery challenge with aspects of an escape room and a scavenger hunt, but better! Typical scavenger hunts are usually simple and only require locating specific items. In our game, there’s an additional layer… after you find the right location, you must interact with your environment to solve a piece of the mystery. Each puzzle is unique and was custom designed for every site.
Our Huntington Beach and Santa Barbara games take an average of 2 hours to complete and you will put about 2 miles on your pedometer. Teams are usually comprised of 2-6 players with 4 being the optimal number of participants. (This game may be too challenging for detectives under the age of 13.) Whether you’re a local or just visiting, you will discover some historic and scenic sites along the way.
